What's the difference between a whipped body crème, a lotion, and a body butter?

A lotion, a body butter and a whipped body crème all moisturise, but they sit at different points on the same scale. A lotion is the lightest and most watery of the three — it spreads easily and absorbs almost instantly, but doesn't stay on the skin for long. A body butter is thick, dense and very rich, but can feel heavy and take a while to sink in. Our whipped body crème sits in between the two: it's noticeably thicker and more moisturising than a lotion, whipped to a light, fluffy texture so it still absorbs quickly rather than sitting greasy on top, and its scent lingers on the skin for hours — longer than you'd typically get from a lotion.

Can I use this on my face?

We'd recommend keeping these for the body rather than your face — facial skin tends to be more sensitive, and this range isn't formulated or tested for facial use.

Will this melt or separate in the heat?

No — these aren't just whipped shea butter, they're a stabilised cream blend, so they keep their creamy texture rather than melting or separating in transit or everyday storage. As with any cream, we'd still avoid leaving them somewhere extreme, like a hot car, for extended periods.

How long can I keep this before using it?

Every Mallow product is handmade fresh to order rather than mass-produced ahead of time, so there's no printed use-by date on the label. We'd recommend using this within 12 months of opening, and storing it in a cool place away from direct sunlight and heat, the same way you would any skincare product.
