What's the difference between 100% coco soy wax and regular candles?

Most mass-market candles and wax melts are made from paraffin, a petroleum by-product that tends to burn with more soot and a scent throw that fades quickly. Ours are hand-poured from 100% coco soy wax instead — a plant-based, renewable blend that burns cleaner and holds fragrance more evenly from the first light to the last.

Can I reuse the leftover melted wax?

Yes — once fully melted, the leftover oil can be reused as a body massage oil. Just let it cool to a comfortably warm (not hot) temperature before applying it to your skin.

What's the benefit of a wood wick over a regular cotton wick?

Our wood wicks burn cleanly, without the smoke you can get from a cheap cotton wick, and give off a gentle crackle as they burn — like a mini fireplace.

Why is the flame so small or mild?

That's completely normal. A wood wick burns with a smaller, gentler flame than a cotton wick — it's meant to flicker low, closer to a mini fireplace than a tall flame. It still gives off plenty of heat and scent, it just looks different to what you might be used to.

How do I trim the wood wick?

Before every burn, trim the wick down to about 5mm (roughly a quarter of an inch) and brush away any charred bits left over from the last burn. A wick that's too long can cause a bigger, uneven flame or extra smoke, so keeping it trimmed short keeps the burn clean and controlled.

Why is the first burn so important?

The first burn matters more than any burn after it. Let the candle burn until the melted wax pool reaches all the way to the edges of the jar — usually 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the candle — rather than blowing it out early. If you stop before the full surface has melted, the candle can "tunnel" on future burns, meaning only the centre burns down and you're left with wasted wax around the edges.
